I like anything that isn't an actual toy...

Oh, and I throw small tantrums too, now!

It seems as though Evan's new favorite word is NO...it means a variety of things: yes, take that toy; sure, you can have it; smile, because it's funny; and mom...seriously? dad totally let's me!

It's true. Mr. Evan has his dad wrapped around his little finger - climb on the couch? Sure! Absolutely! Play with something mom doesn't let me have? Of course! Ha. It's quite comical, actually. As soon as Dan walks in the door, Evan is all over him...why? Because dad doesn't have the word NO in his vocabulary:)

Evan's favorite things to do right now...try to grab the remote and attempt to purchase anything that says Pay-Per-View, pull up the foam tiles and take small bites from them and pretend I'm not eating anything, turn the pages and open the small windows in my big Brown Bear, Brown Bear book, push the Radio Flyer from Auntie Katie across the living room and back endlessly, pound on Dad's Macbook keyboard like I'm communicating something, listen to the interactive Sandra Boyton books on Mom's iPad after pushing the home button numerous times first, pull all my books to the floor AND dump out my block basket right after it has been cleaned up, and finally, push my face against the awesome gate when the puppies are eating so that I can hover over their bowls and freak out Zoe (sidenote: he once reached through the gate and grabbed a handful of food and looked as if he was seriously contemplating eating it).

At almost 11 months old now, Evan is a professional walker. He and his XXW (sometimes XXXW) father-like feet trot across the floor more in one day than should be humanly possible. He wobbles to and fro making noises while wiggling his tongue (so he sounds like a choppy record) - super cute...he even mimics the sound when we do it!

He's getting so big, so fast! Can't believe he's going to be ONE in just a few short weeks!

  1. And I can't wait to be there in a few weeks to watch him and help do all of these things and more. Love, Grandpa
